Store PerksWhat are Store perks? What are they good for? Let's learn a little about them. Have you you ever seen the little flyers or postcards that say sign up for rewards or discounts? This is where the store perks start. Do take the time and sign up for them if they are free, you may even get instant saving right then. These perks or rewards provide you with instant discounts, saving more money than if you hadn't signed up. I even ran across a couple of merchants that will send a reward check to you use in there store with no minimum purchase. What a great way to save a little money. Once you sign up you may receive a little card (size of a credit card or even smaller perhaps to put on your keychain). You present the card each time you make a purchase for additional instant savings or perhaps for future purchases. If you don't like the idea of carrying all those reward cards, guess what, most merchants are now using your phone number to provide you with the discounts so you don't have to carry all those cards around. Once you sign up, if you gave them an email address (and you should), you will receive emails with discounts to use in the store and/or online. If your favorite store does not offer these special sign-ups in the store, check online and sign up online. You never know when a great email discount on something you use or need will come through. A little side note: Set up a special email account just for these discount emails. That way you don't have a lot of junk mail in your regular email account. There are so many ways to save a little money, this was just one. So take what you saved and sock it away into that savings account you included in your budget, remember the one we thought there was no money left over to put into.
