A Gift of Your Time

Services - this is nothing more than giving a little of your time to help someone out for the Holidays or any time throughout the year. Sometimes this is the best gift you can give. Your time can cost nothing or just a few dollars and your time. Here are some ideas for great gifts you can give.

• Babysitting - this can be a one time thing, for example to the recipient can have few hours in the day to go do something they want without having to take the kids along. Other ideas that may have a cost along with babysitting would be to give a gift certificate to a restaurant and an evening of babysitting. So the couple could go out to a quiet dinner. Or perhaps a gift certificate for a manicure, pedicure or hair styling and an afternoon of babysitting so your friend could enjoy the pamperingwithout taking the kids.
• Pet Sitting - How about offering a weekend of pet sitting for a friend so they can take a mini vacation & know their precious pet is well taken care of.
• House Sitting - Do have a friend that hires a house sitter every time they take a vacation. You could give a week of house sitting, this way they know that the pets & plants are taken care of.
• Yard Work - How about offering yourself or your teen to mow the recipients yard once a week for a month, or once a month. Or any other type of yard work that your friend may need.
• Home Organization - How about a day of home organization. Helping a friend get started on some organization would be great, you could have some tips printed out to help.
• Dessert or Dinner - How about a surprise dinner or dessert once a month for three months, six months or a year or even just once (you would get to decide what to make for dinner or for a dessert).
• A Day of Pampering - Perhaps you and your family member or friend can spend some time together & have a day of pampering, go for a manicure and/or pedicure.
• How about an early Christmas gift or to be redeemed prior to the following holidays - a day of wrapping or day of helping wrap the Christmas gifts. Bring over excess Christmas paper & ribbons or even save the color newspaper comics to use as wrapping paper.

As you can see from this list the gift of your time / services can cost nothing but your time or some of your time with a little cost depending on what you want to include with your time. The ideas are limitless. what can you think of???
