Easy Chocolate Chip Cake Mix / Rocky Road Brownie Mix Gift Jar Recipes

Easy Chocolate Chip Cake Mix

1 Box Chocolate Cake Mix (whatever your favorite flavor is)
1 cup chopped pecans (or your favorite nut)
1/2 cup white chocolate chips (br>1 cup chocolate chips
1 4 oz Package Chocolate Instant Pudding

For this gift jar you'll need a little larger jar than a quart jar, you'll be keeping the ingredients separate so you'll also need baggies & a quart size baggie, another option would be to use a variety of jars (or containers) all different sizes. You're going to remove the cake mix from it's original packaging and either put it in the quart size baggie or a container by itself, do the same with the instant pudding. Make sure you label the cake & pudding mix packages. You can put the nuts and chocolate chips together in another container. Put your baggies or containers in a basket or in a cake pan and decorate. Include the following recipe.

Chocolate Chip Cake

1 Easy Chocolate Chip Cake Mix package
1/3 cup Vegetable Oil
2 eggs
2 cups Milk

In one bowl mix the 2 cups milk with the pudding mix, stir vigorously for about 2 minutes then let it stand for a few minutes until the pudding is set up. In another larger bowl add the cake mix, vegetable oil and eggs and mix well. Stir the pudding into the cake mixture and pour mixture into a greased 9" x 13" baking pan. Sprinkle the nuts and Chocolate chips on top and bake for 40 minutes at 350 degrees. Enjoy.

Rocky Road Brownie Mix

1/2 cup flour
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup cocoa powder (unsweetened)
1/2 cup pecans, chopped (or your favorite nut)
1/2 cup white chocolate chips
1/2 cup chocolate chips, semi-sweet
1 cup mini marshmallows (see instructions before adding marshmallows)

In a one quart jar add the ingredients above in the order given, packing each layer down carefully. Make sure you wipe down the inside of the jar after adding the cocoa, before adding the next layers. For the marshmallow, do one of two things as we want to keep them separate from the rest of the ingredients. Either put the marshmallows in a baggie and add to the jar or cut out a wax paper circle to fit inside the jar to keep marshmallows separate from the rest of the ingredients. Add the following recipe.

Rocky Road Brownies

1 Rocky Road Brownie Mix
1 Egg
1/2 cup butter
1/4 cup Buttermilk
1 tsp Vanilla

Remove marshmallows and set aside. Melt the butter. In a bowl combine the rest of the brownie mix, butter, egg, buttermilk and vanilla and mix well. Put the batter in a greased baking pan and bake for 30 minutes or until set. Sprinkle batter with the marshmallows and bake for a few more minutes till the marshmallows are slightly melted. Cool and cut into squares. Enjoy!
