Cheap video games are not a myth, they do exist. They are however allusive, so how does one go about finding them. Many games as you have probably seen are easily $40 or more and you can quickly spend $100 on just a few games. I would like to point out that gaming is actually one of the cheaper forms of entertainment. It costs less than going to see a movie and lasts longer than seeing a movie and having dinner. The per hour cost can be less than a $1.

So now let's make gaming even more affordable shall we.

Buying used is great, and often extremely cheap. These are games other people have played, beat or have gotten bored with.You will find used games in stores and online on sites like E-Bay and Craigs List.

Tip 2 - Sales

I know you know this tip but it needs to be said anyway. Games do go on sale. Many sales happen during the holidays so this is a good time to buy games. Some stores even have a game bin were they have some of the older games that are cheap. If you look hard enough you can find some great games.

Tip 3 - Going Out Of Business

Many times when a game company or store goes out of business the games will go on clearance, because they have to get rid of the merchandise. This means lots of games for very low prices.

Tip 4 - Store Promotions

This can be very interesting, sometimes it can be a trade like bring in 3 old games and trade them for 1 new game. This is one to keep a eye on.

Tip 5 - Free Gaming

Yes, there are sites on the web that offer free gaming some of these are mmorpg, others are just casual games.

• When you buy a game used, make sure to ask to see the game out of the package first. You need to check the game cartridge well, look at the game especially if it's a disc. Look for and at any scratches and look for other deformities on the disc, if it looks bad or not to your standards don't buy it.
• Read game reviews to avoid the bad games that are out there.
• Play the demo of the game if possible, this is one great way to see if you will like a game or not.
